Hi Max, you wrote absolute sense from beinnigng to end. Were these Zimbabwean farmers perhaps more skilled and due to the ongoing bloodshed, more motivated? I ask this because everything in South Africa, is so easy come, easy go and so many of people to whom their tribal land had been returned in the form of commercially sucessful farms,just destroyed their tribal inheritances and often have no love for the land, no ambition to build forth and maintain it as a productive enterprise, to the contrary the properties are stripped bare, everything on it sold and neglected to hell and goNe and then these "farmers" run to beg money from the government and in many instances this is received and wasted. Surely when humans of all races have proven themselves in fields of science, technology and the arts, have been to the moon and now discovered life on Mars, we can set up a successful national agricultural development program that would. Work as well as what they're achieving in Zim? But I agree it is right down senseless that anyone can advocate ongoing urbanisation will create jobs and secure futures. Are there ongoing pro-active agricultural forums that continue trying to sort out emerging farmers' problems, especially as few of thes farmers seem committed whereas if they are, or co-ops are formed, this will present job opportunities all over South Africa. Another thing, we have a lot of skilled people who are retired -- surely if we can work out a plan to pool human resources to provide skills where needed,it would greatly benefit our country and also draw us closer as a nation. Beautiful pic of the Zim farmers in their lands! I just so want our country to come right so that every single one has a future - maybe not a big future, but so much better than having no future!
